Si Nonna's Sourdough Pizza

Si Nonna’s Sourdough Pizza: Experience Italy’s Classic Crust Here in Delhi

Sometimes, a story stays with you long after the credits roll. For me, it was the Netflix film Nonnas and it led me, unexpectedly, to one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Delhi: Si Nonna’s Sourdough Pizza!

Last month, I watched the movie Nonnas on Netflix and it stayed with me longer than I expected. It showed how one person’s passion and determination can spark a change that turns into a lasting legacy. That idea stuck with me as I experienced Si Nonna’s sourdough pizza because something simple made with care can leave a powerful mark.

I hadn’t had good pizza in a long time. Maybe it was just something holding me back from trying other places until I finally found Si Nonna’s at DLF Avenue, Saket.

I had heard about Si Nonna’s when it opened at DLF Avenue and walked past it once. But somehow, I never felt the pull to check it out. Maybe it was just the usual indecision or too many other options around. Then recently, two things changed that. The movie Nonnas made me think about how a simple idea, done right, can turn into something special. Around the same time, a close friend insisted I try their sourdough pizza, raving about how it was unlike anything else in the city. That combination finally pushed me to walk in and see what all the fuss was about.

If you’re craving the best sourdough pizza in Delhi, Si Nonna’s at DLF Avenue Saket delivers a perfectly fermented crust and authentic Italian flavors that will satisfy every bite.

How Si Nonna’s Sourdough Pizza Brings Italy to Your Plate

While browsing the menu at Si Nonna’s, I flipped it over and found a story that instantly caught my attention. It takes you back to 2011 in Naples, where the journey began with a kind soul named Nonna. Invited into her home, the team met a woman whose passion for pizza was passed down through generations. Her sourdough was made from a ‘mother dough’ recipe, lovingly nurtured over time and perfected with a 48-hour fermentation process.

What really stood out was the care and tradition behind every pizza. Baked in an authentic Neapolitan oven lined with tiles made from actual Vesuvian lava. The founders spent years chasing that perfect crust and bold flavors, and now they’ve brought that very same dedication and passion to this place. It’s not just pizza; it’s a piece of Naples delivered right to your plate, carrying the warmth and legacy of a family recipe that’s been celebrated for decades.

This story made me appreciate every bite even more, knowing there’s history, heart, and a true Italian soul behind Si Nonna’s sourdough pizza.

Inside the Flavor: Si Nonna Sourdough Pizza Review

As I mentioned earlier, I hadn’t had good pizza in a long time. Coming here was more than just a dine-in experience. After browsing through the menu for ten minutes, we finally decided to go with the Quattro Formaggi Pizza which had fior di latte mozzarella, ricotta cheese, blue cheese, aged parmesan cheese, homemade cherry tomato confit, fresh basil, EVOO.

The giant-sized pizza arrived at our table in some time, its generous size instantly making it the center of attention. I couldn’t help but lean in and take in its aroma for a few minutes, almost like a curious child discovering something new and wonderful. Haha! After all, I’d been waiting a long time for a good pizza, and here it was, right in front of me. I have to thank my friend for convincing me to finally give this place a try.

On the table sat simple yet essential accompaniments. Jars of chilli flakes and oregano, along with two bottles of their own extra virgin olive oil and a fiery red chili oil, all waiting to be drizzled… sprinkled to taste. Quickly, I picked up the knife and sliced into the pizza. The Parmesan lifted the aroma to another level, and each hot, cheesy bite burst with flavor the moment it touched my tongue.

The pizza was pure heaven on a plate. It wasn’t just appetising. It delivered a sensory overload that hit right to the core, with every bite awakening taste, smell, and sheer satisfaction all at once.

Bite by bite, we were transported to another world. The molten cheese stretching in golden strands, the glistening drizzle of chilly oil catching the warm light, and wisps of steam curling up to carry the fragrant mix of basil, tomato, and aged Parmesan to our senses. Each mouthful was a burst of color and flavor, painting vivid memories we knew would linger long after the last slice was gone.

Still basking in the afterglow of that heavenly pizza, we decided to end our meal on a sweet note. We ordered the Panna Cotta with Blueberries, a silky vanilla custard crowned with a generous layer of their homemade blueberry compote. The panna cotta was smooth and creamy, with just the right wobble, while the compote added bursts of sweet-tart freshness in every spoonful. It was light yet indulgent, cleansing the palate after the rich, cheesy pizza and leaving us perfectly satisfied.

Imagine a delicate dome of panna cotta, its creamy surface glowing softly under warm ambient light, like a gentle whisper inviting you in. The dessert’s smooth, glossy texture promises a melt-in-your-mouth silkiness that will dance effortlessly on your tongue.

Nestled perfectly on a pristine white plate, the panna cotta is embraced by a luscious swirl of deep, jewel-toned blueberry sauce. Rich purple waves that contrast beautifully with the creamy white, drawing your eyes and whetting your appetite. Here and there, plump blueberries rest like little bursts of freshness, their tender velvet skins hinting at the juicy sweetness locked inside.

With each bite, the cool creaminess of the panna cotta melts slowly, releasing a subtle vanilla essence, before mingling with the vibrant tanginess of the blueberries, a perfect harmony of smooth, sweet, and tart. The rustic charm of the wooden table beneath, the gentle flicker of light, and the soft hum of the open kitchen create an atmosphere that feels both comforting and celebratory.

This dessert isn’t just a treat; it’s a sensory journey… a whisper of Italian authenticity wrapped in a modern, cozy ambiance, making every spoonful a moment to savor and remember.

From the first glance at the menu to the very last spoonful of panna cotta, dining at Si Nonna’s was more than just a meal, it was an experience layered with warmth, tradition, and flavor. Every bite of their sourdough pizza carried a piece of Naples, and every detail, from the story behind their dough to the care in plating their desserts, spoke of passion and authenticity.

It’s rare to find a place where food touches both your palate and your heart, but Si Nonna’s manages to do just that. I walked in curious, nudged by a friend’s recommendation, and walked out carrying a lasting memory of flavors, aromas, and the feeling of being transported somewhere far beyond Delhi.

If you ever find yourself craving pizza that’s more than just crust and toppings, something that tells a story, something that feels like home, head to Si Nonna’s at DLF Avenue. Trust me, it’s worth every bite!
