Cafés in Dhan Mill: Your Guide to the Most Stylish and Tasty Hangouts in South Delhi

I first came across Dhan Mill before even moving to Chhatarpur. A random Google search for the best cafes in Delhi led me to cafes in Dhan Mill, and although I was intrigued, I brushed it aside, since I was living in Gurgaon at the time. Little did I know, the game would change once I moved to Chhatarpur. With the famous hangout of South Delhi right at my doorstep, Dhan Mill quickly became my go-to place for coffee or just a laid-back evening hangout.

I loved 32nd Avenue and Cyberhub in Gurgaon. These two spots were my go-to places, and I missed them the most after moving to Chhatarpur. But then, Dhan Mill became my savior. It quickly filled that void, offering a perfect blend of cozy cafés, vibrant vibes, and an escape from the usual hustle. The close proximity to my new home turned it into my new favorite hangout spot. Though small in size with just a handful of cafés, Dhan Mill packs a punch with its unique charm. Despite the limited options, each café in Dhan Mill brings something different to the table, be it the ambiance, the food, or simply the vibe. It’s a place where you can enjoy a quiet afternoon or catch up with friends over delicious bites, all while soaking in the artistic and creative energy of South Delhi.

Now, having spent almost a year here (by the time this blog was written), I’ve seen a few changes in the cafés in Dhan Mill. Some of the cafés of Dhan Mill have shut their doors, but that hasn’t taken away from the charm of the area. The remaining spots still offer a unique experience and continue to be my go-to place for coffee or just a relaxing hangout in this famous hangout of South Delhi.

So, here’s my personal list of cafés in Dhan Mill where you can truly unwind and experience a mix of great vibes, delicious food, and the charm of this creative hub. Each of these places holds a special memory for me, from quiet afternoons spent reading to lively evenings catching up with friends. I hope these spots become your go-to places just like they’ve become mine.

1. Indulge in Authentic Indian-Origin Chocolates and Handcrafted Delights at Colocal

If you’re a chocolate lover, you’re going to love this place. It’s my favorite too, so I’m putting it at the top of the list. Sorry, I’m biased! This is one of the most famous cafés in Dhan Mill. I love their cranberry coffee.

Colocal – Indian Origin Chocolates at Dhan Mill is a cozy café that brings the art of chocolate-making to life. Established in 2020, it stands as India’s first live bean-to-bar chocolate factory with a café experience. The café offers a warm and inviting ambiance, making it an ideal spot to relax and indulge in handcrafted chocolates. Their menu features a variety of desserts and beverages, including their signature hot chocolate, which has been praised for its rich and creamy texture. In addition to chocolates, they serve a range of dishes like tortellini pasta, garden salad, and sandwiches. Colocal is also known for its aesthetic interiors and delightful ambiance, providing a perfect setting for both casual hangouts and special occasions. With a focus on Indian-origin chocolates and traditional recipes, it offers a unique culinary experience in the heart of South Delhi.

2. Café Dori – European Vibes, Minimalist Aesthetics, and a Pet-Friendly Patio

The second most famous cafe in Dhan Mill. If you’ve been around Dhan Mill long enough, Café Dori is probably the first name that hits your ears. It’s a spot that doesn’t try too hard, effortlessly stylish, minimalist, and spacious. The kind of place where you could walk in for a casual coffee but end up staying for hours, just because the vibe pulls you in.

I’ve dropped by for brunch, had solo work sessions here, and even those rainy-day pastries that hit just right. They serve a mix of European-inspired dishes, and their presentation game is strong. It’s also one of the few places that truly gets how to balance taste with aesthetics without making you feel like you’re eating off a mood board. Bonus? It’s pet-friendly. So don’t be surprised if you spot someone’s golden retriever lounging next to an oat latte.

This is my second favorite café in Dhan Mill, and it holds a special place in my heart. I even treated myself to a solo birthday celebration there in 2023. I loved their orange coffee.

I visited Caara just to add it to my blog, as I had to check out all the cafés in Dhan Mill. The ambiance inside was warm and cozy, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The staff was friendly, and I decided to try their All Arabitta pasta along with a Green Matcha Latte. Both dishes were perfectly prepared to my taste. The pasta was delicious, and the latte had the right balance of flavors.
