Rupi Raila Twin Towers – Dhaliara Kothi Raila Sainj Valley

Sainj Valley is known for its incredible beauty and elegance. I had heard a lot about the twin towers of Raila. If you are traveling to Shangarh or Raila village, make sure that this twin tower is on your list. Probably the most iconic attraction of Raila village after Rupi Raila Waterfall, Dhaliara Kothi stands majestically and can be visible from the road. The tower has a long history and great religious significance for the villagers.

I have visited Shangarh multiple times, and I will keep on visiting in the future as well. Before visiting Raila village, I was told a lot about Raila Twin Towers by the locals of Shangarh. I had even read blogs on Dhaliara Kothi and watched YouTube videos and Insta posts. And I was wondering when I would reach there. However, the wait came to an end when I took a weekend trip to Raila village. And on the last day of my Raila trip, I left the homestay to visit the Raila Twin Towers.

How to Reach Rupi Raila Twin Towers

Raila Twin Towers are located in Rupi Village. The monument is clearly visible from the main road when you reach the village. Located on a small hillock, there is a home next to it that looks after the towers. Raia village is located around 490 KM away from New Delhi. After reaching Sainj, you need to either take a cab to Raila village or board a local bus (which can be challenging at times).

On my last day in this village, I left the homestay in the morning to take a stroll around the village. However, I didn’t get to explore much. But the twin towers were on my list. So, I got there and spent half an hour or so. As per a local person, the towers hold religious and cultural significance for the village. And only priests are allowed to go inside the towers. One tower is locked, and the other underwent some restoration to keep it maintained.

If you are planning to visit Raila for two days, you can club Dhaliyara Kothi and Rupi Raila Waterfall on day one. And on the second day, you can trek to Raila meadows (Also known as Bhatkanda Meadows) and the sunset viewpoint, which is a must. It will take a toll on you but trust me, the views from the vantage point are breathtaking. That will rejuvenate you! Raila is a small village, but it has some really good homestays. You can club it with the Shangarh itinerary. You can visit Raila from Shangarh or Shangarh from Raila as per your weekend itinerary.
