There’s an unknown tomb inside Akbar’s Tomb Complex

Just when I entered Akbar’s tomb complex and bought the ticket, my eyes got stuck on a ruined tomb which was just in the corner. This unknown tomb inside Akbar’s tomb complex was easily visible from the road outside. This unknown tomb lies in a ruined condition, the walls are damaged and some parts are even broken. No special attention has been paid to the tomb, assuming it adds no significance.

This unknown tomb inside Akbar’s tomb complex made me curious more than the Akbar’s tomb itself. Since I love exploring the past of these sites and structures, this tomb has no name and no history, I mean as far as I could understand. I searched a lot about it online and even discussed it with a few people but no clear information.

Do you know about this unknown tomb inside Akbar’s tomb? Some say it belongs to Lodi, some say its Mughal era tomb

At first, I got to know that it belonged to the Lodi era. And I bought it. I was even told by some people that this unknown tomb inside Akbar’s tomb complex belonged to the Lodi era. However, I was still curious to know which Lodi (Lodhi) king was buried here. Wikipedia mentions it as a Lodhi tomb. The Lodhi dynasty didn’t last long. It only survived from 1451 to 1526. Babur won the battle of Panipat and that marked the end of the Delhi Sultanate.

The tomb of Ibrahim Lodhi is in Pakistan. The Tomb of Bahlol Lodhi is in Chirag Delhi. The tomb of Sikandra Lodhi is in Lodhi Gardens, Delhi. I have read somewhere that Daulat Khan Lodhi was in Pakistan however another fact that I read (on MP government’s archaeology website) that Daulat Khan Lodi helped Shah Jahan in his campaigns to conquer Southern India. However, Wikipedia says that Daulat Khan Lodi aided Babur.

Then I talked to someone I know on Instagram, Shah Umair, he told me that it was not necessary that the tomb belonged to any king only. It could be any nobleman, any general, or any minister in the Lodi royal court. And it sounded somewhat convincing. I bought it. But one day, I came across a blog. The author (Kevin Standage) mentioned in his blog that the tomb belonged to the Mughal era. He mentioned that the octagonal tomb was Mughal architecture and thus, it was certain that the unknown tomb inside Akbar’s tomb complex belonged to the Mughal era. Kevin also said that the style of this tomb is Baghdad octagon.

However, there are no strong facts that can tell the history of this unknown tomb situated near Kanch Mahal in Akbar’s tomb complex. If you know or have any information, do let me know in the comment section below.
