Jibhi Waterfall – A Hidden Natural Gem in Tirthan Valley

Waterfalls have always attracted me since childhood. And I am pretty sure the same is the case with you. Being a Haryanvi, I barely saw any waterfalls in my childhood. And when I started visiting Himachal Pradesh frequently, this fantasy came true. However, I am yet to stay/camp by any waterfall. When I was in Himachal Pradesh in Oct 2022, I visited Jibhi Waterfall while I was staying there.

Tirthan Valley and Sainj Valley are adorned with several incredibly beautiful waterfalls. Barshangarh Waterfall of Shangarh and the Rupi Raila Waterfall are some of the most famous waterfalls in Sainj Valley. The waterfall of Jibhi and the Chhoie Waterfall of Sharchi are well-known in Tirthan Valley.

How to Reach Jibhi Waterfall of Tirthan Valley

I stayed in Jibhi for around a week. During those days, I tried to cover two major places in Jibhi. The waterfall of Jibhi is one of them. The other iconic place to visit in Jibhi is Mini Thailand (Kulhi Katandi). Other places to visit in Jibhi are Serolsar Lake Trek which starts from Jalori Pass, and Raghupur Fort Trek, which also starts from the same place. Jibhi can be explored in a maximum of two days. Leave early for Serolsar Lake and club it with the Raghupur Fort trek. Spend a night at the fort in a camp, stargazing. You can explore Jibhi Waterfall and Mini Thailand the next day.

Jibhi Waterfall can be easily accessible from the road. You can take your vehicle there (bike or car) and park outside the waterfall. You can even take a walk. It takes less than ten minutes to walk up to Jibhi waterfall from the main market of Jibhi. You can even follow the map. You will get good internet connectivity in Jibhi on all major networks. There is a ticket booth and a big gate that welcomes you to the waterfall. From there, you need to walk for two minutes, and you will see the majestic waterfall in front of you.

Is Jibhi Waterfall Worth Visiting?

When you are in Jibhi, make sure that you visit the waterfall. Spend an hour or so at the waterfall and cherish the natural treasure this place has to offer. Over the years, Jibhi has started to become another Kasol due to the large influx of tourists. However, the waterfall still holds its elegance and will rejuvenate you when you feel done with the crowd and chaos of this place.

This 55 ft waterfall of Tirthan Valley captures the attention of every tourist/traveler who visits Jibhi. One of the must-do activities in Jibhi, people even take a dip in the waterfall. Make sure that you don’t litter around and keep the area clean. You will find dustbins at the waterfall.

The best time to visit Jibhi waterfall is early in the morning. When I visited the waterfall early in the morning, there was no one; even the ticket office wasn’t open at that time. I went inside and sat there for a couple of hours, just listening to the natural symphony of the waterfall. The silence and stillness dipped in the tranquil hues captivated me for long. Though, other people started coming in after spending a significant amount of time. And then it got crowded. So, make sure that you visit during the early hours of the day to avoid crowd. There is an entry fee of 20 INR, which is for the maintenance of the waterfall.

The waterfall is worth a visit. If you are someone who loves natural places like me, you should visit Jibhi waterfall if you are around. I was staying at Ozark Hostels, which is close to the waterfall. You can decide on your accommodation in Jibhi at your convenience, depending on how many days you plan to stay there.
